f1insights is a platform to show interesting statistics from Formula One (F1) races, starting in the 2019 season up to present day.
F1 races produce an immense amount of data, from which we can draw interesting pieces of information that help us as fans understand the action better, make predictions and become more engaged with the sport.
This data is public, however there is a relatively high barrier to entry required, with knowledge of Python, Pandas, and the excellent FastF1 library.
The data is pulled from F1 themselves, however credit is due to the FastF1 team for developing the FastF1 python module, which makes the process of interacting with F1's data much simpler, faster and enjoyable.
No worries, the code that produces the statistics is not perfect, and F1 is a sport with hundreds of edge cases! Hit the contact button at the top of the site and send me an email with the bug, and I'll look into it!
